Texture studies

With all this digital painting practice we're doing, thought I'd share this cube textures demo from deviant art user =tanathe

He/she has some time lapse process videos posted.

I think the range and execution among the cubes is just incredibly well done. They all share kind of a similar style that makes for a neat family.

Maybe we could do some posts of different texture cube ideas. :)

Wednesday: Tech Dependence

Somehow Portray integrated technology in a character or creature, this may be a full figure or a zoomed in example.

Whimsical Creature Thoughts

Thought I would sketch a few tertiary type details after your last comment.

New topic

So i've been bouncing an idea around in my head the past couple of days and thought it might make for some cool art interpretations.

I'd like to see some characters depicting the below:

In actuality a self defeating being among us, though the defeat is always blamed upon the external. Laced with potential, a darkened and spiraling force continues, repeatedly out of control - the type of control afforded to us by choice-  misguided by misconceptions as to why this is. Starved of sun light, caged by a new era's lifestyle, its negativity continues to cause itself to stumble. For happiness is a choice not a circumstance.

Its scattered but loose enough for whatever direction you want to take it.

Buffalo Dog Review : )

Hey so I really like this guy and I wanted to add to my earlier comments.

So I noticed you like to stick to kind of monochromatic desatured range and I think it particular looks cool on this guy and adds to his 'mellowness' for lack of better words..

Upon further investigating his right foot, i noticed it was the whole 'frontal plane' of the top front chest down to the feet looks a bit twisted towards the camera, while his spine and neck and body are very straight without and twist away or towards the camera. So I drew a red line on the ground perspective line his feet were on and modified his feet on a ground line that is more in perspective in regards to the nicely established rear legs you did. I kind of thing of it like the tangent that the big toes make between each other..

I'd like to hear your thoughts on this.
